Subject: MANDATORY POLICY TRAINING

Date: June 28, 2024

-----

Staff:

**Mandatory Policy Training will be active for 2024-2025 on Vector Training at 8 AM on Monday, July 1, 2024.

(Please note, any PD/SD/ Mandatory training cannot occur for the new fiscal year 25 until the new fiscal year begins on July 1.)

Mandatory Training Modules
Mandatory Policy training must be completed on Vector Training by all employees. Employees must complete all training listed under Mandatory Training.

The 20+ required modules once completed satisfy all policy training required by state and county policy.

You may complete them in one sitting or you may do them little by little over multiple days in any order.

As you complete trainings you will see the percentage of completion updated on your home page at the top of the screen.

A few of the trainings are only assigned to professional staff, and a few are only assigned to service personnel.

When you return to work in August, you will still complete the Verification Statement Sheet of the policies with your principal/ building supervisor.

Program Access for Vector Training

In-lieu of Day

*Staff Members (non-261) that complete all required modules by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7 are not required to report to work on Thursday, August 8. Employees that do not complete all modules prior to that time will report for normal working hours on August 8 to complete the modules with their principal/supervisor.

**People who work extended day contracts (such as 210, 220, and 230) must complete the modules on their own time in order to get August 8th as an in-lieu day (day off) and may not complete modules during their extended day contract time if they wish to not report on August 8.

***261 Employees do not get the day off for completing modules early.

Suggested (Optional) Trainings

Suggested trainings are also available for PD/SD Credit to count towards your yearly requirement of 18 hours.
The purpose of offering these trainings is simply to give additional opportunities for employees to earn credits towards their 18 hours.

These are optional and not required. They are listed in their own category underneath the mandatory/required trainings. You have the option of completing any of these trainings that interest you or you feel would benefit you in your position. They are pre-approved and anyone can complete them to count for PD/SD hours.

Training intended for New Employees cannot be completed by returning employees to gain hours towards PD/SD.

The Training Library

There is a cornucopia of Extra Trainings that are optional and in the Library on Vector. The Library can be accessed at the bottom of the page. These trainings must be approved by your supervisor/principal to take for credit and must apply to your position. If they are not approved by your supervisor, they will not count towards your PD/SD hours.

Notes

  • Some trainings are required every two (2) or three (3) years as a minimum set by the state. The county may choose to require them more often than the state, but not less.

  • Trainings that are in an “off-cycle year,” will appear under “New Employees Only.” New Full-Time Employees are required to complete these trainings upon employment.

    • It will appear under New Employees on everyone’s page, but only

      new

      employees should complete them

  • Each year, the state provides us with a document that tells us what minimum trainings must be offered and how often they must be reviewed as a state minimum.

    • We use this to select the mandatory trainings and then add any we feel are appropriate for our local school system and/or increase the frequency of review for our county.

  • The three modules on “Education and Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children” is required every 2 years.

    • FY25 will be an “

      OFF-cycle

” year, so only NEW full-time employees will complete this during this school year.

    • During “on-cycle” years ALL employees will complete those modules including those who were employed the previous year.

    • New Employees- If you are having trouble with Module 1 and Module 2 of the Sexual Abuse Prevention trainings while in a school building, it is most likely a filter issue. The remedy for this is:

      use a school iPad

      OR

      complete those modules at home

      .

  • The Eight (8) Hour Special Education Training is a one-time only training. This should only be completed by new employees this year.

    • It will appear under New Employees on everyone’s page, but only

      new

      employees should complete them

. If you are coming from another county and completed this training with your previous employer, you do not need to complete the training again, but you must provide official documentation to Mr. Croasmun that it was completed.

  • If you have any questions, please contact me or your building principal/ supervisor.

Thanks!

Eric Croasmun
