Thank you to Artsbridge and Zak Morgan for fun songs that help our students enjoy the art of story telling through music. Our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades had a great time this morning!!!!

Congratulations to these students for being sent to the office! When you do the right thing and use your BESt habits, the teachers notice! Keep up the good work!

👩🏫👨🏫Earlier this week, we were fortunate to have Amber Myers from WVDE train our PK-2 ECCATs and Teachers on the Science of Reading and other evidence-based strategies to improve classroom instruction for our students. 📝✏️The training was conducted in sessions at the Pleasants Family Support Center.

Today some of our staff attended a training to help us assist our students to the best of our abilities.

✅Reminder: 🇺🇸 Veterans Day- Monday, November 11- Schools and Offices will be closed.

The students and staff of Belmont Elementary School would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our veterans. Today we kicked off the remembrance with a light breakfast and short ceremony.

THANK YOU to Belmont Volunteer Fire Department for bringing the trucks and speaking to our students about fire safety!

Please share...

Belmont Elementary students had a sing-a-long with Mr. Negie as we waited to cheer on the SMHS Cross-Country team on their way to the WV state meet. I know the runners worked hard in practice all season long but I'm pretty sure the cheers from BES is what put them over the top!

Mrs. Greene's 3rd grade students made "X-Rays" of their hands that were super cool! Learning about their skeleton PLUS a creepy craft for the end of October EQUALS lots of fun!

Belmont Elementary School would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to Riverview Farms (Dave Westfall) and Dale Rupert for providing pumpkins for all of our Pre-K and Kindergarten students to decorate. The judging was pretty tough so all students won a first place prize which included gift certificates to McDonald's, Wendy's and Taco Bell along with a straw of honey and some toys and candy.

On Monday I was blessed to listen to "An Ant Takes a Nap" read by some of Miss Wince's Kindergarten students. They did such a good job! I can't wait to hear what that crazy Ant gets into next!!

✅ Reminder Tuesday, November 5 is 🇺🇸 Election Day- schools and offices are closed.

Friday, October 25 is an Early Dismissal.

🏫Schools/ Offices will be open ✅ on 10/14/2024.
This is a reminder that Monday, October 14 (Columbus Day) is a normal instructional day of school ✏️📚 for staff and students.

Pumpkins are starting to join Mrs. Negie's pre-k classroom! The students are working hard but Jack (as in O'Lantern) isn't adding much to the lesson.
