What is PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. It is a nonprofit organization whose membership includes all parents, legal guardians and staff at St. Marys Elementary School. The PTO sponsors assistance to teachers in the classroom, holds fundraisers for supplemental educational experiences and materials, provides non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children.
Why should you get involved?
This is a great way to be involved in your child’s school year. We will be hosting parties and fundraisers throughout the year that your child would love to see you be a part of. You can be involved in the planning on any future events and be sure your voice is heard on any issues your child may be having.
What is required of a PTO member?
o You must be a parent or legal guardian to a student at SMES, or a staff member of the school.
o You are not required to attend the monthly meetings, however, that is how you stay informed.
o Even if you can’t attend every meeting, we would love to have you at one, or just volunteering to help in any way you can.
We would love to see you at our next meeting Thursday, August 22 at 5:00 p.m. in Ms. Love’s classroom.
